Upgrading Weapons and Armour.
So the only way to upgrade weapons/armor is to get runes/hilt/grip/pommel/haft? And the only way to get runes/hilt/grip/pommel/haft is to specifically pick them up from enemies OR salvage (expert) from "special enchanted" weapons? And after you get runes/hilt/grip/pommel/haft, you go to a crafter and the Upgrade tab will appear?

No, the runes/weapon upgrades work just like dye - you double-click on the rune/upgrade, then click on the item to receive the rune.

Ok. I get it now. I wont worry about upgrading stupid weapons/armour until I come to it.
Now, the next question.. where can i get better weapons? |

Well, I usually find good weapons as drops. The best weapons I have though came from me buying/trading for them in town. I'm a ranger primary, so I always have tons of good hammers & axes to trade for bows. One of the sites listed as Fansites on Guild Wars website has a list of the max damage you will find on each type of weapon. So, once you get a really really good weapon that you plan on keeping, then upgrade it. Otherwise, I would use it for a while until you run across something better. Then sell/trade your old one or if you have customized it (which I rarely do unless it's like the ultimate weapon I plan on keeping forever) salvage it.

And also a list of all the skill trainers in all the cities would be nice too.

I dunno where that is - I'd dig through this site and the others under the Guild Wars Fansite listing.
